Sean is no stranger to West Texas, having lived in Lubbock for 7 years when he first came to the States from England in 1991. He interned at Tech Wesley before serving at FUMC, helping start a contemporary service and expand local mission & outreach. After receiving his MDiv from Asbury Seminary, he served at Chapelwood UMC in Houston for 7 years before returning to Kentucky to rejoin the missional community he had helped start. He and his family have sought to love their neighbors in the East End of Lexington for the past decade.
Sean has published two books with IVP: The Story of God, the Story of Us (2010), and TEN: Words of Life for an Addicted, Compulsive, Cynical, Divided and Worn-Out Culture (2014), and self-published his first title this year, A View from the Margins: Stories for Holy Week. He speaks regularly on college campuses, churches, conferences and retreats, mostly on the ‘Big Story’ the Bible is telling; missional living; and addiction, recovery and the church.
Sean is married to Rebecca, and they have two children: Maggie (15) and Seth (13).
